2024 W. Schaaf brings four women-owned businesses together in a carefully renewed retail center beside the South Hills neighborhood.
Created in partnership with the City of Cleveland, the project turned underused storefronts into welcoming places where local businesses can build loyal customers and become part of the community’s everyday life.

Four women-owned businesses call W. Schaaf home.
Profiles, Foxy Fur, HFB Ceramics, and Kindrid Kava each bring something different to the building. Together, they’ve created a place where neighbors can get a haircut, bring in their dog, learn pottery, or relax over kava.

A complete tenant buildout
Built from the studs for Kindrid Kava Bar.
Kindrid began as two separate medical-office suites. We gutted both spaces, joined them into one, and rebuilt the interior around the owner’s vision for a warm, welcoming place to gather without alcohol.
Over six months, Upbuild worked hand in hand with the owner and managed the entire project—from design and permitting through construction and the final finishes.
